The Student Senate for California Community Colleges (SSCCC) seeks a strategic and results-oriented leader to join our team as the Director of Administration. In this vital role, you will oversee and guide the SSCCC, ensuring efficient office workflow, tracking assigned tasks, and proactively addressing issues. The Director of Administration will handle high-level administrative tasks requiring initiative and independent judgment, working under the general direction of the Executive Director. Strong leadership, analytical skills, strategic thinking, multitasking, and excellent interpersonal skills are essential. Responsibilities include supporting, training, team building, mentoring, and overseeing internal processes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced administrative support to the Executive Director, including drafting correspondence, explaining policies and procedures, summarizing reports, and resolving issues within the role's scope.
- Research, summarize, and analyze information to prepare specialized reports, compiling data and statistics as directed by the Executive Director.
- Implement new policies and procedures based on decisions made by the Executive Director at meetings and conferences.
- Oversee the planning and execution of meetings and events.
- Keep the Executive Director updated on business performance.
- Manage and negotiate contracts with vendors and system partners.
- Coordinate certain aspects of the agency budget with the Executive Director.
- Accompany students to conferences and events as the official advisor.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of administrative staff to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Oversee Human Resources practices, including evaluating and managing staff performance.
- Assist the Executive Director with recruitment and selection of office staff.
- Organize orientation and training for new staff members.
- Manage office staff, ensuring policy adherence, maintaining a safe working environment, and fostering positive staff relations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in business administration, Operations Management, or a related field is required, with a master's degree preferred.
- Three - five years proven experience in a senior operational leadership role, demonstrating a track record of driving process improvements and operational excellence, as well as experience in managing cross-functional teams, complex projects, and event and conference planning.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders internally and externally.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, the ability to inspire and motivate a team, a collaborative approach, and strong interpersonal skills are required.
- Ability to think strategically and contribute to the overall vision of the organization.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment is necessary, along with the flexibility to adjust strategies based on changing circumstances.
- Experience in event planning and conference coordination is highly desirable, with a track record of successfully delivering high-impact events.
