The TikTok Content Design & Product Writing team is made up of content designers and technical writers in the US, Singapore, and China who make the TikTok product easy to use for our diverse global audience. We're looking for a user experience (UX) Content Designer to collaborate closely with members of the TikTok Product Management, Design, User Research, Engineering, Legal and Localization teams to build products that captivate and engage our viewers and content creators. Through clear, expressive writing, you'll transform product features and concepts so that they are intuitive and easy to understand. As an advocate for our users, you'll use design thinking, empathy, and data to help shape and refine our product and identify opportunities to build better experiences for our users. You're independent, proactive, and comfortable with ambiguity and problem-solving, and you have experience juggling multiple projects and prioritizing them to have the greatest impact for your team and the company. You're also a strategic communicator, helping to define product narratives in conjunction with your team. You'll write and edit content for web and mobile interaction flows, as well as both apply and help evolve our style guidelines. You have a strong intuition for writing clear and concise content that is easily translated and localized for our global audience.
Responsibilities
- Create content strategies in order to write, proofread, and edit high-quality UI text to help users easily navigate our products, including work on: new product flows, feature enhancements,category and feature naming, error messages and notifications, and occasional emails
- Lead content audits to identify opportunities and drive consistency across the product
- Contribute to our content standards and be a champion for best practices
- Manage and prioritize projects with multiple stakeholders across different time zones
- Understand how to balance business requirements and customer needs in building features- Ability to critique the visual style, interface, and interaction flow of applications andexperiences
- Collaborate with, influence, and drive consensus with stakeholders and their feedback
- Collaborate with content designers and stakeholders across teams and time zones to define a cohesive narrative across the product
- Synthesize internal and external feedback to improve content clarity and quality
- Work closely with the Localization team and translators to review and edit English translations
- Complete high-quality work in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- At least 2+ years of experience writing UI/UX text as a Content Designer, UX Writer/r/Product Writer, Content Strategist, or technical Writer
- Strong writing and communication skills in order clearly articulate rationale for content designdecisions in peer critiques and stakeholder presentations
- Writing portfolio including, but not limited to: user interface copy, microcopy, user education,direct or transactional emails, style guides or product launch content
- Self-starter who can manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and stay focusedwhen faced with changing requirements
- Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Technical Writing, UX, HCI, orequivalent practical experience
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working on a global product with international partners in different time zones
- Experience collaborating with Product Management, Design, User Research, Marketing,Engineering, Legal, and Localization teams
- Experience using Figma, and Asana- Experience working on both B2B (client) and B2C (Consumer) product areas
- Strong interest in social app products, user and influencer behavior, and associated trends.
