Job Description

Pittsburg State University is accepting applications for a Digital Communications Project Manager for the Division of Economic Development and Community Engagement to write, edit and/or design high-quality content, provide analysis of digital content performance, and develop and execute digital strategies based on Division and University communications goals. The Digital Communications Project Manager coordinates and supports the digital communications needs throughout the division.

Duties and Responsibilities of Position

50% Content Development

Manage and produce communications content for Division websites, social media channels and digital campaigns

Update content for the main Division landing page and other pages

Oversee the divisions

Edit content received from division staff

Merge data or content from outside sources with internal content for webinar presentations, government proposals or presentations as requested

The Digital Communications Project Manager will be responsible for following all University and Division branding guidelines when designing digital products for internal and external audiences, including local, state and federal government agencies

40% Research and Planning

Collect, share, and document analytics of digital content performance

Review and evaluate new digital communication opportunities in higher education

Assist in the development and execution of digital strategies based on Division and University communications goals

Determine metrics for assessing results and establish effective practices for monitoring them and adjusting strategies to optimize performance

10% Additional Duties as assigned by Associate Vice President for Public Affairs and Engagement

Provide support to division projects as needed and special projects as assigned

Attend University and Division meetings to develop a collaborative work experience

Education and Experience:

Required Education and Experience at Hire -

  • Bachelor's degree required in communications, public relations, journalism, or marketing
  • Graphic design training and experience

Preferred Education and Experience -
  • Two years of relevant experience, including developing and designing website content AND managing social media platforms for an organization
  • Two years of relevant experience with website editing platforms, editing press releases or technical papers for appropriate digital messaging

Appointment Duration: 12 months

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday. 8:00 a.m. - 4:30p.m.
