Job Description

This position is within the Operations team and will report directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing and reviewing the procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing process. Their duties include researching automation techniques, monitoring equipment usage and identifying opportunities for improvement, maintaining product quality, and planning layouts to optimize production. Additionally, the Manufacturing Engineer provides technical support to the manufacturing, engineering, and quality team to ensure processes run trouble free.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Focus on continuous improvement and sustainability of equipment and processes within manufacturing team.
  • This position reports directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and is responsible for plant related engineering functions.
  • Drive improvement in all manufacturing processes using the ITW Toolbox.
  • Conduct ongoing analyses of products and processes to identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiencies.
  • Assist in new product development and modifications and revisions to existing products
  • Coordinate and conduct validations (IQ, OQ, PQ)
  • Lead/Participate in the coordination and implementation of capital projects (Project Management)
  • Investigate and install new methods, layouts, equipment and process analysis that improve overall operation of the plant.
  • Develop and implement work instructions and standardization of processes.
  • Troubleshoot processes which are prone to be frequent or major production problems.
  • Assists in the training of personnel.
  • Assists in maintenance related issues.
  • Provides technical support to manufacturing, engineering, quality, marketing, customer service, and management as needed.
  • Possesses the ability to get along with co-workers, customers, and company visitors.
  • Arrives at work on time and complies with company attendance and tardiness policies.
  • Provides input in budget planning and timelines.
  • Comply with OSHA Safety and Health regulations, along with other federal, state, and local regulations regarding environmental, industrial, and electrical mandates.
  • Apply ITW Toolbox and 80-20 to effectively drive results in a fast-paced, collaborative, low-ego work environment
Qualifications

Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related science and at least 1 year of appropriate experience or five years of related experience
  • Ability to read and understand complex instructions such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to carry out detailed, complex oral or written instructions
  • Ability to apply problem solving techniques to address complex issues
  • Must have good communication skills and excellent listening skills
  • Computer experience is preferred with knowledge of Microsoft office. AutoCAD or other drafting software experience is preferred
  • Novice electrical and mechanical knowledge needed

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
