How this role drives the company forward:
The Territory Manager II is responsible for achieving sales revenue targets in assigned territories in North America. The Territory Manager II has a deep understanding of molecular biology, exhibits a strong entrepreneurial spirit and demonstrated success selling to the life science markets.

The Territory Manager II role is remote-based and required to maintain residency within the identified ideal location(s) of the territory.

Approximately 50% travel, including overnight, may be required.

How you will make an impact:
In this role, you will be is responsible for achieving sales revenue targets in the territories of Los Angeles, Utah, and Nevada. The ideal candidate will reside in the greater Los Angeles, CA area, have intimate knowledge of key accounts in industry as well as academic market segments including UCLA, City of Hope, USC and UCI. In this role, you will demonstrate a creative approach to drive results and build customer relations.

What will you do:
  • Responsible for the sales of company's products within assigned territory. Achievement will be made via maintenance of existing customers and development of new opportunities and relationships as well as seeking out new business within accounts we have no prior history with.
  • Maintains an advanced level of product and marketplace knowledge. The TM II has mastery of the company's product portfolio, can explain technical details in "layman's terms" and can communicate the benefits of products to customers and internal partners alike.
  • Understands and employs selling skills to identify, advance and close opportunities. Analyzes sales data to uncover opportunity, understands the life science marketplace and possesses strong presentation abilities.
  • Analyzes sales data and account knowledge to create strategic territory plans and develop tactical action plans to advance customer relationships and drive sales success.
  • The TM II is expected to fully understand and efficiently use the CRM to develop territory, account and customer plans. The TM II will ensure full transparency of customer information and activities via daily documentation of customer interactions.
  • Collaborates with Product Management. Provides timely feedback from customers to marketing and management on product performance, effectiveness of messaging and critical competitor activity. The TM II is responsible for providing "voice of customer" to the company.
  • Provides timely communication and follow-up to customers, consistently exceeding expectations.
  • Investigates unique problem-solving approaches to address challenges such as customer objections and competitive situations.
  • Supports in the mentorship of new territory managers with an emphasis towards supporting technical training and sales processes.
  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
How will you get here?
  • BS, MS, PhD, in Cell, Molecular Biology or related life science discipline.
  • 2-5 years of successful sales experience at a life science research tools company.
  • 2-4 years lab bench experience in Cell, Molecular Biology, or related area.
  • Must have and maintain a satisfactory driving record, valid driving license, and automobile insurance at all times.
  • Proven professional communication and presentation skills required.
  • Use and understanding of MS Office Suite and Salesforce.com or similar CRM tools.

The US base salary range for this full-time position, expected to be located in in the greater Los Angeles, CA area, is $115,000 - $125,000 USD. This range may be modified at any time at our sole discretion. This base salary does not include additional bonus compensation and benefits.
