Position Summary

Performs Traffic Design Engineering work in support operations, production, construction and/or maintenance functions within Gas and Electric Operations. Identifies, diagnoses and solves technical problems. Ensures the timely, thorough, and accurate completion of all engineering services work and projects. Prepares new or modified designs. Creates and maintains company standards for area of focus. Contributes to Safety Excellence goals by improving safety, reliability and affordability through engineering related work and activities.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $136,000

Bay Area Midpoint: $184,000

Bay Area Maximum: $232,000

California Minimum: $129,000

California Midpoint: $175,000

California Maximum: $220,000

Job Responsibilities

Assists in development of Standards and Specifications

Is recognized as a subject matter expert in one discipline related to meter, regulation, and/or compressor facilities and provides breadth of knowledge and performs analyses and projects across several disciplines.

May act as team lead and provide direction to less experienced employees.

Presents engineering research, findings, solutions and recommendations to Directors and Managers across Gas Operations

Projects and work often have impact, application and interaction across departments in Gas Operations and across PG&E.

Provide training, guidance, instruction, and coaching to other Engineers.

Solves complex problems by developing and using new and innovative engineering design and technical solutions

Studies, evaluates and tests new or revised methodologies, best practices, tools, processes, procedures and technology assessing potential fit, benefits, and impacts to Gas Operations

Technical pathfinder that searches for practical breakthrough solutions to complex problems and issues

Works independently with guidance on only the most complex projects

Qualifications

Minimum:

Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience

Job-related experience, 7 years

PE-Professional Engineer license

Desired:

Masters Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience

Job-related technical experience, 13 years
