Mitsubishi Chemical America, Inc. SoarnoL division is located in La Porte, Texas, and specializes in SoarnoL Ethylene Vinyl Alcohol Copolymer (EVOH). Additional manufacturing facilities for SoarnoL are located in Japan and the United Kingdom.
Noltex was formed in June of 1994 and purchased an idled Du Pont EVOH manufacturing facility in La Porte. Noltex began production of SoarnoL resin in early 1996 after retrofitting the first of our plant’s production lines.
Our plant primarily serves the needs of the North and South American markets, and supplements product needs in Oceania, Asia, and Europe. With a total annual production capacity of 38,000 metric tons, our EVOH product line includes a wide variety of specialty SoarnoL grades in order to better meet the increased demand for this unique gas barrier resin.
Job Purpose
Coordinates and schedules activities in the maintenance area, including corrective, preventive, predictive, and proactive maintenance, and maintenance planning. Anticipates and eliminates potential delays through planning and coordination of manpower, parts and materials, and equipment access. Develops or refines preventive maintenance tasks and schedules as needed. May be responsible for maintaining documentation related to equipment history.
Principal Accountabilities
Plans, schedules, and coordinates corrective, preventive, predictive, and proactive maintenance activities with a long-term focus on increased reliability and productivity of the workforce.
Review specifications, drawings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate. Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work, material, outside services and sub-contractors. Review and incorporate historical data into a number of resources and man-hours estimates. Estimate extras, change orders, and discovery work items. Maintain files of working documents and backup estimate figures.
Obtains and organizes all information and parts required for maintenance work to be performed (e.g. diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions).
Collaborates with other maintenance colleagues to ensure work orders are completed in a timely manner and machinery is operational.
Develops new or refine existing preventive maintenance tasks and schedules.
Provides assistance and guidance to junior maintenance colleagues.
Adheres to all plant Environmental, Safety, Health, PSM, and Mechanical Integrity policies. Participates in plant-wide safety, housekeeping, Operational Excellence, and Lean Manufacturing programs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Experience
Must have a strong background in piping and/or structural work (Mechanical) scope planning
Capable of reading P&ID, Isometric, General Arrangement, Plot Drawings, Equipment & Piping Specifications
Can identify process equipment and piping for the development of fixed equipment repair scope
Knowledgeable with field estimating activities to develop repair scope
Can develop BOM using drawings and specifications
NCCER certification, craft journeyman, or foreman in industrial construction, maintenance or turnarounds is an additional benefit
Must be able to work independently and in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
Must demonstrate attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Must possess strong interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with employees, business leaders and customers
Working knowledge of Microsoft products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Experience with Maximo is a plus
