The Director of Student Affairs Policy, Standards, and Conduct is responsible for upholding the UC San Diego Conduct Code and related policies and regulations.This position has the authority and responsibility of strategizing, developing, and implementing changes to policies, procedures, regulations, and programs that directly impact student life. The Director oversees the day-to-day operations of the Office of Student Conduct, manages risk for the campus, and performs work that is complex, confidential, and layered. Additionally, the incumbent provides oversight of the restorative justice program to provide alternative options for conflict resolution through the student conduct process.The incumbent advises the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs (VCSA) on all student conduct-related policy matters, staying abreast of system-wide policy issues, national trends, and laws regarding conduct while educating the UC San Diego community on emergent policy issues.In addition, the Director is responsible for the development and assessment of strategic plans and goals for the Office of Student Conduct while playing a key role in the development of divisional strategic goals. Develops annual budget priorities and conducts resource planning. This position has delegated authority from the VCSA in management of all related Student Conduct matters for the campus.The successful candidates selected for an interview will be required to provide a Diversity Statement that includes the following:* How have you demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, & inclusion?* How would you demonstrate your commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion within the Center for Student Accountability, Growth, & Education?QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Advanced degree in Judicial Management or related field preferred.
Thorough knowledge of Student Affairs/Student Life specialization. Excellent knowledge and demonstrated skill in the administration of university student conduct code, policies, procedures, and processes.
Knowledge of principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks. Advanced knowledge of student misconduct cases, including statistical reporting and use of case management software.
Strong leadership skills to motivate employees and influence attitudes and behaviors. Excellent ability to work as a member of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
Skills in monitoring/assessing processes or services to make improvements. Ability to understand diversity issues in higher education and to work with underrepresented students.
Skills in project management, social perceptiveness, and demonstrated experience in monitoring production and quality of work.
Strong knowledge of advising and counseling techniques. Advanced knowledge of Student Conduct policy and procedures.
Ability in problem identification, reasoning, and developing original ideas to solve problems. Demonstrated knowledge and skill in making sound independent judgments.
Excellent communication skills, oral and written, including tact and diplomacy in dealing with a variety of individuals.
Demonstrated ability to prepare and present workshops and seminars on student conduct expectations.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and understanding of the importance of protecting privacy.
Knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.
Demonstrated ability to develop and administer annual budgets.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Hybrid schedule - 1-2 days on campus per week.
Position may require some evenings and weekend hours.

Pay Transparency ActAnnual Full Pay Range: $85,400 - $156,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)Hourly Equivalent: $40.90 - $75.10Factors in determining the appropriate compensation include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure, and certifications.If employed by the University of California, you will be required to comply with our Policy on Vaccination Programs, which may be amended over time.
