Senior BLC Loan Underwriter

This is a job for a Senior BLC Loan Underwriter position with a company located in the Pearl, MS area.
Overview: The purpose of this job is to serve in a senior position for approving and declining small business loan applications submitted to the Business Loan Center by business bankers and designated retail lenders.
Responsibilities: Credit decisions for aggregate credits up to Small Business definition maximum. Credit policy waivers and exceptions. Decision over limit requests for junior underwriters. Decision and document small business loan requests, including pricing, for approval, denial, or conditional approval. Review small business loan applications for credit score, quality of personal credit history, proper debt service coverage/cash flow, collateral, financial ratios, etc. Perform analysis for credit decisions (cash flow or debt coverage ratio, collateral loan to value, appraisals, title searches, etc.). Review loan packages for compliance with TMK Loan Policy and Small Business Loan Underwriting Guidelines (desirability of credit, purpose, terms, collateral, financial statements, etc.). Review loan requests for HMDA applicability and compliance and submit requests as needed to HMDA 2nd Review Committee. Reviews loan decisions of junior underwriters for over limit requests.
Qualifications: Minimum four-year college degree. Extensive knowledge of small business and commercial lending process. Advanced knowledge of regulatory compliance procedures regarding small business lending. Extensive knowledge of credit analysis techniques. A broad understanding of small business and the inherent risks and opportunities associated with varying industry types. Good judgmental skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Advanced computer skills. Basic leadership and management skills.
