Position Summary:
Directs and oversees programs meant to protect employee health and safety or promote environmental compliance and sustainability. The position will report to President Davis-Standard.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee compliance and continuous improvement related to all applicable EHS & Sustainability program regulations, permits, rules, policies and laws for the FSC business unit in North America.
Oversee the development, monitoring, and reporting of EHS key performance indicators and provide benchmark data to better understand Davis-Standard’s North American EHS performance and improvement opportunities.
Develop and implement consistent policies, procedures, best practices, training, and budget to ensure overall EHS compliance across the NA FSC unit facilities.
Lead all strategies and initiatives to reduce EHS risk through compliance with federal, state and local laws and industry regulations (such as OSHA, EPA, DOT etc.).
Act as the liaison between Davis-Standard and regulatory agencies such as OSHA, EPA, and other local agencies.
Manage non-conformities resulting from inspections.
Develop and implement employee training and continuing education in areas such as EHS regulation compliance, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of various safety equipment.
Coach, mentor, and develop EHS professionals, and ensure that EHS activities are implemented effectivelyacross the North American FSC facilities.
Perform EHS compliance assessments and develop action plans to correct deficiencies across the business unit, working with relevant management to execute action plans.
Oversee investigations and root cause assessments for all EHS incidents and near misses that occur in the business unit.
Implement procedures to identify, evaluate, and correct hazardous conditions and practices.
Conduct inspections and enforce adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals as well as Davis-Standard policies and procedures.
Assess and propose sustainability initiatives, considering factors such as cost effectiveness, technical feasibility, and acceptance.
Develop, monitor, and track sustainability indicators, such as energy usage, natural resource usage, waste generation, and recycling.
Develop reports or presentations to communicate the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Expert knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health administration regulations and environmental regulations
Bachelor’s degree; preferably in Industrial Health and Safety, Environmental sciences or engineering
10+ Years in an Environmental / Safety role in a Manufacturing Environment including some management experience
