VCA Capital Area Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center is looking for our next Hospital Director to lead our dynamic, 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital in Concord, New Hampshire!

We are looking for a Hospital Director that has strong communication and HR skills and a solid track record in business management. We’re looking for a leader who is resourceful, adept at building and maintaining relationships with staff, doctors, and clients, and can effectively manage multiple priorities. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to inspire, coordinate, and train teams. Experience in team development, cultural transformation, and business growth is essential.

In this role, you will work closely with our Regional Management team and the Regional Medical Director to oversee a broad range of administrative and operational activities. This includes guiding the hospital’s business functions, supporting high standards of patient care and client service, maintaining facility standards, and driving profitable business growth.

Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree; CVPM preferred

Proficiency in HR functions, including employee counseling, coaching, and mentoring

Extensive knowledge of customer service best practices

Experience in financial budgeting, management, and analysis

Familiarity with effective marketing techniques and strategy

Strong public speaking skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences

Proven decision-making ability, with skill in delegation and results-driven leadership

Key Responsibilities:

Develop the veterinary, technical, and administrative teams to ensure quality patient care and exceptional client service

Oversee hiring, performance reviews, and coaching of staff in alignment with Regional Management

Manage hospital budgets, operating expenses, business growth initiatives, charge capturing, forecasting, and P&L review

Establish and enforce hospital and VCA protocols, policies, and procedures

Implement and support company-wide initiatives and philosophies

Actively represent the hospital, fostering relationships with local professionals and the community through event planning and attendance, including some night and weekend events, as well as occasional travel

Develop and execute marketing strategies, encompassing social media, community events, and continuing education programs

Additional Information

Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $100,000-$120,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
