Scope of Position

The Reservations Supervisor will be responsible for supervising the general job performance of staff. This includes but not limited to- Implementing of policies and procedures, training, working closely with leaders in key areas (Group/Leisure Sales, Conference Services and Executive Offices) in addition to other departments to fulfill reservations needs. Respond to regular reservations requests/calls, contract and group rooming list entry, management of group call-in blocks. Uphold JW Marriott Brand Standards. Handle guest complaints, and perform any additional duties requested by the Reservations Manager.

Position RequirementsTwo years' previous experience in transient and group reservations preferred.Previous hospitality Reservations, Front Office or Sales experience are an asset.Knowledge of group reservations and block process.Handle a multitude of tasks in an ever-changing environment and prioritize job duties.Multiple languages a plus.Possess outstanding communication and guest services skills.Exhibit a professional appearance in attire and communication.Superior phone etiquette, manners, record keeping and follow-up skills.Proficient in hotel property management systems, in particular Opera and MARSHA.Be able to read and understand basic reports.Responsibilities

Manage the Day-to-Day Reservation operations, complete daily checklist, assist the Reservations Manager and reservations coordinators with tasks.Provide clear direction to Reservations team, assigning work and instructing the details of work.Provide guidance and resolution to team questions.Observe performance and encourage improvement, ensuring productivity, efficiency and standards of service are met, enhancing team morale.Assist in managing inventory via MARSHA and Opera.Ensure Stop Sells are communicated to all wholesale and travel agencies.Have understanding of the OTA extranets and provide assistance with information as needed.Assist with processing Transient and Group Commissions.Oversee leisure reservations aspects including ensuring Executive Committee requests and Turnberry Country Club Member reservations are confirmed accurately and effectively.Responsible for booking room reservations; quoting available rates to maximize room revenue, including trying to upsell rooms when possible.Responsible for managing Group room blocks from start to finish for important groups and highly execute a smooth process.Ensures all reservations are completed accurate and satisfactory to the Guest's expectation and needs.Enters reservations are entered into the Hotel Property Management System according to standard operating procedures.Respond to all internal and external customers in a highly professional manner.Have complete knowledge of all rooms, layout, and locations as well as all amenities.Liaison with key departments to ensure optimal performance.Complete projects assigned by management in a timely manner.Put together reports based on requests.Present and transfer skills to other team members to ensure departmental success.Maintain understanding of industry and inventory management.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Education

High school diploma: Hospitality degree/diploma preferred.Skills and Abilities

Ability to communicate in the English language - Verbal and Written. Second language is a plus.Strong problem solving and analytical abilities.Ability to create and maintain spreadsheets.Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.Experience using computers and software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks.Physical Requirements

On a continuous basis, sit at a desk for long periods of time in front of a computer screen.Intermittently twist to reach equipment or supplies surrounding desk.Use a telephone and computer keyboard daily.Must be physically fit to lift, pull, and push items up to 50 pounds.Also requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift.
