Job Summary:
The Strategic Sourcing Specialist (AVP) is responsible for the successful execution of sourcing and/or category strategies to drive greater efficiency, value, and quality across the organization. In support of this work, this position will be responsible for building sustained value-based relationships with stakeholders and vendors, negotiating commercial contract terms and conditions (including pricing), gathering market data (including benchmarking), facilitating the execution of strategies implemented by sourcing leadership. The primary objective of this position is to efficiently negotiate savings and mitigate risk while maintaining accountability of work product throughout sourcing contract life cycle.
Major Responsibilities:
High focus on accountability for assigned projects
Participate in the end-to-end sourcing process and help facilitate analysis and collaboration of a cross-functional team, leveraging market/industry insights to assist in making strategic recommendations
Execute on negotiation strategies & assist in negotiations where needed for moderately complex contracts and vendor relationships
Support and assist development of negotiation strategies & lead negotiations for moderate complexity contracts, including catalogue, punchout, and other automation initiatives
Build and maintain value-measured relationships with key stakeholders to drive sustained results while ensuring strategies remain in alignment with business goals
Understand business partner’s objectives and business drivers and integrate into the commodity/category/vendor strategy with input from key stakeholders and sourcing leadership
Provide information and data where necessary that helps facilitate business reviews with key vendors and stakeholders
Ensure compliance with contract deliverables
Market Research & Analysis Participate in gathering “market intelligence” by performing high level analysis, understanding macro market drivers, and cost structures across the category, commodity, or vendor
Education, Licensure, Year of Experience (and type of work experience):
• Bachelor’s Degree and typically 5-7 years sourcing/procurement experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Understanding of indirect sourcing and contracts experience
Experience working with and negotiating with vendors
Experience in managing competitive and single source RFX Experience in reporting, analytics and/or aggregation of reporting in supply chain
Strong analytical and financial skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Power Point, Project and Excel
Experience in SAP Ariba (or other similar procurement system)
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Ability to work with and learn from strategic sourcing managers and strategic sourcing leadership for further coaching and development of procurement/sourcing skills
The typical base pay range for this role is between $80K - $117K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
