SummaryFocused regionally the Sourcing Manager develops and drives multi-year cross functional strategies for packaging and other categories. The major focus will be to minimize material and service cost impact by containing costs and ensuring the continuity of supply through strategic procurement activities.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelopment of supply base / commodity strategies consistent with business initiatives.Analysis of packaging suppliers and their industries, identification of preferred suppliers, and Supply base rationalization and consolidationDevelop and utilize customized list of Preferred Suppliers to support requirements for managed commoditiesFacilitate timely flow of information, technical and market, between supply base and internal customers (e.g., Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing)Leverage incumbent Suppliers to develop and expand new services and products to achieve sustainable and market competitive advantageEstablish early engagement in programs to maximize valueUnderstanding of packaging commodity cost drivers to suggest cost and volume coverageDrive total cost reductions/containment through structured negotiation (e.g., 6-step)Sound execution and management of contractsPlan, develop, and execute e-Sourcing events relevant to the opportunities in the direct spacePromoting standardization programs across companyAssists in the resolution of purchased material shortages as needed.Proactively manages data within the Procurement toolset, including but not exclusive to utilizing tools to identify opportunities to leverage supplier or component spendPresents to Management regarding developments in assigned areasLead, monitor and facilitate the completion of projectsRecommend and update policies and procedures for procurement processes.Identify and provide recommendations on process improvements.Provide training to new associates and other departments as needed.Assign and guide daily work activities to associates as needed, ensuring that they have adequate tools to perform the duties; provide training, guidance as required.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor degree in Finance, Economics, or related degree.At least 5-7 years Supply Chain Management or directly related professional experience. A relevant Master's degree may be held as equivalent for three years of professional experience.Is persuasive, demonstrates diplomacy and tact.Demonstrates attention to detail through accuracy and completeness of information.Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlinesShows initiative (e.g., seeks additional related assignments, pursues self-development, proactively looks for alternatives and solutions and assumes additional responsibilities).Strong computer skills and database experienceEffectively demonstrates public speaking skills both in prepared and impromptu speaking.Knowledge of company procurement policies, procedures and products preferredManages multiple projects/tasks simultaneously. Demonstrates ability to plan, set priorities, organizes and coordinates work with others.Technical training, and APICS and/or ISM certification preferred.Supervisory ResponsibilityPosition may have supervisory responsibilities
