We are looking for you to join our team as a Principal Airborne Systems Operator or Sr. Principal Airborne Systems Operator based out of
Chantilly, VA.
What You’ll get to Do:
This position will primarily be located at our customer site and will support the SIGINT Technology Center (STC). The STC is where technology and teamwork come together to meet the unique needs of the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense. The STC is comprised of multiple mission-focused programs with projects ranging from SIGINT payload and data link development to OCONUS/CONUS mission/maintenance support. STC tasks include system design, engineering development, system integration, hands-on build and test, field operations and maintenance, training, and production.
Provide overall operations and maintenance support of fielded SIGINT systems to include:
Ground support analysis during operational flights and act as a liaison between operations, engineering, and data analysis.
On-site SIGINT System triage support:
Monday – Friday on a set schedule.
Interface and collaborate with customers, end users, operators, and Field Service Representatives to document issues, concerns, or questions regarding NG systems.
Coordinate determined resolutions at customer site by enacting known troubleshooting procedures or additional actions as directed by the engineering team.
Collaborate with NG system engineering leads and vendor SMEs for triage and follow-up engineering as needed.
On-call pager support:
Pager duty is 7 days, 24 hours, performed
once a month.
10-minute call back, 1 hour SME call back, 3-hour SME on site visit as required.
Provide on-call support and triaging.
Directly involved with engineering leads, issue tracker, and O&M communications to be aware of what is being communicated to the team and what issues are being tracked.
Add and/or update tickets to the Issue Tracker and/or JIRA and communicate to the O&M support team.
Attend customer related meetings such as daily stand-ups, operations preparations, training, etc. as directed and allowed by the customer to ensure NG systems are used and optimized for their needs.
Attend Core weekly NG, customer, and vendor meetings.
May facilitate NG-led, technical exchange meetings (TEMs) with customers, vendors, and external partners.
Establish a strong working relationship with customers, vendors, and external partners.
Develop and execute troubleshooting procedures for use in real-time operations.
Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary engineering team to upgrade and improve developmental and fielded systems to maximize uptime and capability.
Basic Qualifications for Principal Airborne Systems Operator:
An active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph and be able to maintain that clearance
A minimum of 7 years' experience with an associate's degree, 5 Years of experience with a bachelor's degree; 3 Years with master's degree; 0 Years experience with PhD; or will accept 9 years of experience in lieu of a degree
Strong interdisciplinary problem-solving skills, demonstrated by frequent and successful application of technical standards, theories, concepts, and techniques
Knowledge and familiarity with Windows and Linux Operating Systems, specifically the ability to execute in command line and rapidly navigate both operating systems
Basic Qualifications for Senior Principal Airborne Systems Operator:
An active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph and be able to maintain that clearance
A minimum of 10 years' experience with an associate's degree, 8 Years of experience with a bachelor's degree; 6 Years with master's degree; 3 years with PhD; or will accept 12 years of experience in lieu of a degree
Strong interdisciplinary problem-solving skills, demonstrated by frequent and successful application of technical standards, theories, concepts, and techniques
Knowledge and familiarity with Windows and Linux Operating Systems, specifically the ability to execute in command line and rapidly navigate both operating systems
Preferred Qualifications for both levels:
Knowledge of modern wireless communication systems
Knowledge of RF system components & functions
Experience in operations and maintenance, SIGINT/EW systems, and workflows
Experience in configuration, maintenance, use of Virtual Machine (VM) and virtual environments
Knowledge of Direction Finding (DF) and geolocation algorithms
