Purpose of Role:
This role will develop, deliver and maintain our data strategy across our ESCO Division. Responsible for overseeing the development and use of data analytic platforms and tools across ESCO, ensuring alignment with our global data strategy and Enterprise Architecture, while leveraging the capabilities provided through Weir Business Shared Services. The role requires an understanding of machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), and data governance principles and how they can be deployed to drive innovation and efficiency across our operations. A focus of this role is to underpin a step-change in decision-making across the organization through the move to data-driven and evidence-based decision support. Active stakeholder management and engagement is a fundamental element of the role including interacting and coaching members of the ESCO leadership teams to support and mature their data-centric decision making capabilities including defined KPIs, OKRs and related improvement opportunities.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement an industry leading comprehensive data strategy that supports Divisional objectives and is aligned with our Corporate Data Strategy and Target Enterprise Architecture.Lead the development and implementation of a data governance framework across ESCO to ensure data integrity, quality, and compliance with relevant regulations.Oversee the recruitment and retention of data analytics and data science talent and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.Collaborate with IS&T and business stakeholders to integrate AI and machine learning technologies that enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.Drive the adoption of advanced analytics and predictive modelling techniques across the division.Implement our corporate data policies and standards to ensure appropriate collection, storage, and use of corporate data assets.Collaborate with WBS colleagues in the design and development of corporate analytics datastore, based on our Common Data platform.Manage & lead the ESCO Division Data and Analytics team including proposing and getting alignment on the annual budget for the team.Safety First:
Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.Minimum of 10 years of experience in a data analytics or data science role, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.Proven track record of implementing data analytics and governance in a large-scale, complex organization. (Experience of implementing AI across a global business a plus)Strong understanding of manufacturing, supply chain and/or finance processes and how data analytics can drive improvements.Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.Weir is committed to an inclusive and diverse workplace.
