Job Description:
Plans, designs, develops, implements, and evaluates an organization's Continuous Improvement strategy using Lean and/or Six Sigma techniques. Identifies information useful in decision making processes and develops methods which will allow for efficient implementation. Administers company strategic plans via personnel. Confers with department leadership and staff and reviews activity and operating reports. Develops training materials as required and provides focused CI training. Provides one-on-one coaching to leaders and teams to support continuous improvement and lean effectiveness. Manages, monitors, and coordinates the organization's work plan including researching, analyzing, identifying opportunities, and making recommendations for performance improvement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Be a thought leader, partner, and driver of continuous improvement by assisting operations with the tools of Problem Solving.
Provide support to the organization by the development of business transformation plans based on value stream thinking and waste reduction across the organization.
Foster an environment of continuous improvement through engagement, training, and support at all levels of the organization.
Lead cross-functional teams to streamline processes & eliminate non-value-added steps.
Coach operations and teams to apply Lean Principles and SMART goals.
Identify Gorbel employees and leaders who have the potential to influence and persuade other employees to embrace operational excellence; train those influencers to drive and cheerlead for a compliant production/office environment.
Establish and maintain appropriate KPI’s to check actual conditions vs. target, as well as determine and measure the impact of implemented improvements.
Create and maintain process improvement plans based on data analysis of current operations and trends.
Execute improvement projects to achieve business needs.
Apply appropriate Lean tools to analyze the actual condition and determine underlying constraints preventing improvement.
Identify opportunities for improvement and prioritize by impact to operations within priorities set by management.
Determine and implement appropriate countermeasures to drive improvement i.e. standardized work, mistake-proofing, changes to work area, layout changes, etc.
Prepare appropriate documents to report progress on projects to management, as assigned.
Benchmark other facilities with similar processes and apply best practices at processes.
Track Continuous Improvement preparedness, supply senior leadership with regular updates and reports on.
Participate in QMS Internal Audits as auditee and as auditor.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Business Management or Industrial Engineering.
5+ years utilizing strong analytic skills to understand business needs.
Project Management experience.
Knowledge of single piece flow lean manufacturing concepts (Toyota Production System).
Strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting interests and obtain cooperation.
Demonstrated ability to communicate in writing and verbally to all levels of the organization.
Demonstrates a “go and see” practice.
Experience in MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive), as well as up-to-date communication technologies (e.g. SharePoint, MS Teams, etc.).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Green or Black Belt Lean and/or Six Sigma certification required with completed project work experience.
Collaboration with department manager and other leaders, lead and drive sustainable purposeful and meaningful leader standard work and CI Governance including: Gemba Walks for 6S, Performance Management, and Safety.
Ability to scale Lean concepts in a company poised for dramatic production growth.
Conducts root cause analysis related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Inventory (SQDCI) KPIs using the adequate tools (i.e. RCCM, A3, 8D, 5Whys, TTI, Project Charter, etc.).
Creates and improves the necessary workflow schemes for the process development and controls within the scope of the Quality Management System.
Ensure CI Maturity assessment requirements are met for broader CI roadmap (6S, Standard Work, Pull systems, Quality assurance, Improvement board, etc.).
Experience in MS Office PowerBI.
Resilient, creative, and flexible nature.
20% travel (domestic and/or international) required.

At Gorbel, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
A reasonable estimate of the current range is: Min. $92,676 to Max $139,013.
