About the Role

Do you prefer TikTok over Twitter? Community-generated content over user-generated content? Are you a futurist-entrepreneur who enjoys authentic connections in the metaverse and at live events but can hold your own in the virtual boardroom with senior leadership of a Fortune 100 client?

If so, you might be our new Global Social Strategy and Experience Lead for one of the world’s most iconic brands. Especially, if you’re a seasoned, hybrid strategist who has mastered foundational strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills and can apply that craft to a variety of mediums, with a particular focus and excitement for social media and social-first creative.

You have a deep understanding of social media platforms and digital environments, a proven ability and passion for creative thinking in partnership with other strategy leads, creatives, influencer marketers, paid media, and analytics team members. And you can always figure out how to work around problems and level up your team’s outcomes.

What You’ll Do

Shape: Be a confident source of direction and a thought leader for both mindsets and craft among your client partners, strategy peers and the broader team to transform social experiences working with and guiding multiple WPP agencies.

Innovate: Open doors, hunt for opportunities to create transformative work and change.

Advocate for social first work.

Partner: Work united as one team with clients and SMEs across a network of high-performing WPP agencies to create impactful work.

Build: Help transform one of the world’s best brands and agency network by impacting culture, ways of working and thinking and always helping to deliver what’s next. And, be relentless in your pursuit of helping our client have the best social media presence in the world.

Be the “go-to” thought leader and expert in integration of social and brand strategy, engagement planning and content.

Drive creation of communications and plans that meet client objectives in the areas of social media strategy, social creative, campaign development, research, content amplification and analytics.

Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing issues thoughtfully and effectively.

Manage multiple campaigns from concept to completion by anticipating challenges, troubleshooting problems, proposing solutions, offering client counsel, overseeing quality, and ensuring the work delivers impact and value.

Create synergies between social and other disciplines: PR & Influencer, Customer Engagement & Commerce, Data & Analytics, and Media.

Lead innovation and implementation of key strategic frameworks in social and brand strategy with the ability to develop end-to-end solutions with social at heart.

Oversee quality and development of creative (concept) briefs and briefings as well as asset briefs to meet modern marketing needs to drive concept to content across experience seamlessly connecting social to the full ecosystem.

Serve as a leader and point of escalation for global teams creating social strategy and content.

Be the key player in new briefs representing the agency and the social expertise.

Build strong relationship with creative leaders and creative community.

Become strong contributor in a global thought-leadership network.

What You’ll Need

CPG experience.

12–15 years of experience working on digital strategy and social strategy with agency experience.

Must be able to maintain composure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Proven experience in brand and communications planning.

Proven successful collaboration with creative leaders and complex creative teams.

Proven thought-leadership.

Management of teams of strategists and cross-disciplinary teams.

Effective written and verbal communications skills. Ability to write and deliver persuasive presentations is critical.

Strong analytical skills. Ability to interpret ongoing research and media reports, guide, and partner with social media experts to inform communications recommendations.
