With offices in Minden and Reno, Nevada, we are well placed to serve our clients with Water and Wastewater Infrastructure, Grant Opportunities, Planning, Surveying, Site Development, Hydrology/Hydraulics, Landscape Architecture, Residential Design, Water Resources, Expert Testimony, Hazard Mitigation Planning, and Roadway Maintenance & Design.We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team. This position is 40 hours per week in our Reno office. This position will work on-site and is not remote nor hybrid.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This is an experienced position involved in non‐routine and complex assignments. The Project Engineer works with the Principal Engineer or Engineering Manager to develop design concepts which are incorporated in final product by Staff Designers and Engineers. The Project Engineer, in role of project leader, may begin to handle some project management tasks but will primarily work on technical aspects.Serves as project engineer with significant autonomy for project related tasks and as a designated client contact. May have project manager responsibilities on smaller, less complex projects.Prepares and monitors project budgets for smaller, less complex projects.Responsible for project schedules and timely completion of smaller, less complex projects.Assists in the coordination of pricing, estimating, scoping and marketing strategies for proposed projects.Assists in the preparation of engineering agreements for his/her projects within the department.Prepares design computations and quantity estimates.Prepares or modifies reports, specifications, plans, construction documents, studies, permits and designs for various projects.Develops construction cost estimates for his/her projects.Attends client and public meetings—days or nights.Handles routine contract administration.Responsible for control of work‐in‐process, ensures accurate client billings, and monitors outstanding accounts receivable and collection efforts on his/her projects.May direct and/or supervise the work of other engineer's activities on his/her projects.Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.Instructs CADD technicians to reduce designs to working drawings.May serve as onsite project representative.Visits construction site to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents.Responsible for project team quality system tasks as defined in the quality manual.

Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to work effectively with supervision and as a part of a team.Ability to operate a computer and software necessary to support job function, including AutoCAD, HEC RAS, and other engineering programs.Working knowledge of word processing applications preferred.Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.Ability to work independently with minimal direction.Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.Attention to detail required.Sound judgment to identify and report problems to supervisors and contribute to resolving them.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master’s degree in engineering from an accredited four‐year college or university and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.Licensed driver in the State of Nevada with a clean driving record.P.E. license required. Registered professional engineer in the State of Nevada.
