George Fox University's Strategic Educational Services Department is seeking an experienced K-12 practitioner who can support professional development and the growth of educators to support Christian schools across the west.

About the Job:The Interim Director of Christian Educator Services is a member of the Strategic Educational Services team, providing leadership and guidance in partnership with the Director of K-12 Initiatives and the Director of K-12 Partnerships. The Interim Director is being sought to provide guidance, insight and leadership for the creation of new teacher preparation and development opportunities created within the university's K-12 and Early College units. The principal responsibility of the Interim Director is to help the Dean of the College of Education, the Chief Strategy Officer, and the Director of Educational Partnerships with the creation of the Fellowship of Regional Christian Educators program. They will network with Christian heads of school in Oregon to ascertain their specific staffing needs and collaborate with College of Education faculty in developing a curriculum and program to generate new teachers to serve this ministry. The Interim Director will simultaneously support other efforts of the Strategic Educational Services, such as the creation of an associate's degree pathway for high school students, the development of targeted professional development for Christian schools, and strategic advocacy for Christian education in Oregon.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Leading the development of the Fellowship of Regional Christian Educators (FORCE), which will include creating the business and strategic plan for launch in the spring of 2026. They will network with regional heads of school, coordinate with the Dean and faculty of the college of education, and partner with the staff of Strategic Educational Services to ensure an on time and on budget launch. (50%)Assisting the head of K-12 Initiatives with the development of crosswalk of Christian high school curriculum with George Fox general education to create an associate's degree that consists of dual and direct credit. (15%)Represent George Fox at the Oregon Christian Education Coalition and the Christian School Administrators regular meetings, providing updates on progress and, in partnership with the Chief Strategy Officer, developing a plan for long term support for Christian school advocacy (10%)Provide communication and oversight to the campus community regarding the needs of Christian schools across the Pacific Northwest. (10%)Provide support to the Director of Educational Partnerships on the continued evolution of partner packaging, including the creation of professional development and the delivery of the annual professional development day. (5%)Along with the Director of K-12 Initiatives, maintain productive relationships with the Association of Christian Schools International (5%).Provide guidance and insight to the Associate Director of Pre-College programs on the ongoing development of the Pre-College Institute and the Middle School Experience, among other K-12 campus events (5%).Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.Demonstrated experience working cross culturally with respect, appreciation and humility.Other duties as assigned.

A day in the life of this position:The Interim Director of Christian Educator Services spends a typical day engaged with the ongoing work of university-K-12 alignment. They may spend the first day of their week in dialogue or traveling to visit with heads of school, operating from an empathetic posture to learn how George Fox may serve their needs. They may then work in partnership with internal university partners, ranging from finance to events services, on curriculum and material development to ensure the timely delivery of program attributes. They are a consummate partner and a consummate professional, who leads through service to peer directors aiming to grow George Fox's mission through engagement with the Christian schools pipeline.

We're looking for candidates who have:A Master's Degree and at least 5 years of experience.Understanding of the regional Christian K-12 education community.Knowledge of teacher preparation, hiring, and induction in Christian schools in Oregon, Washington, California and Idaho.Knowledge of curricular development across the Christian K-12 continuum.Legal authorization to work in the United States.
