Apple’s Vision Products Group is seeking a hands-on, seasoned Media QA Engineer to drive quality and help ship best-in-class applications and user experiences for visionOS. As a QA Engineer in our growing organization, you will work to drive software quality for customer-facing Media apps and Media Frameworks while working cross-functionally in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
Description
The ideal person for this role is a passionate QA engineer who has experience of video streaming technologies and has experience in automation. This role will require developing and qualifying customer-focused flows and ensuring system level quality for media features both functional and automation focused. You should be able to communicate at a high level and dive into technical details with key partners or leaders. Your leadership skills will drive communication across multiple organizations, negotiate various asks and cultivate growth within the team. You’ll be responsible for bringup of test cases functional, performance and working through complex development cycles for multiple areas.
Minimum Qualifications
At least 5 years of professional experience as a Software Quality Engineer
Experience with video streaming technology (ex. AVC, HEVC, live streaming encoders).
Working closely with the development team and other cross-functional teams to ensure product quality is of the highest level by executing tests for new Media features such as Apple Immersive videos
You will cover a broad span of test areas involving functional, performance, and reliability testing. Responsibilities of this role will include manual and automated testing, writing automated test cases, triage of issues, reporting on project progress, and risk analysis.
Experience developing UI automation, preferably in Apple frameworks such as XCTest
Strong objective-oriented programming skills preferably in Python and Swift.
Ability to identify the gaps in the existing automation test cases and close them with a long-term focus in mind. Excellent analytical, programming, and debugging skills and Strong communication and collaboration skills
We are looking for a Quality Automation Engineer who can work and contribute towards the automation and testing of Apple Media technologies using Python and Swift frameworks
Key Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
BS or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
Hands-on experience working with AR/VR products and ecosystems
Knowledge of Apple Platform development using Xcode, Swift, and Objective C preferred
Experience with testing consumer electronics, mobile applications and experiences
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python preferred and familiarity with Swift and JavaScript is a plus
Working knowledge of iOS/OS/WatchOS or other Apple ecosystem products

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.
