Large manufacturer with locations nationwide is seeking a Maintenance Planner for their facility in the Pittsburgh PA area. This position is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections of plant equipment to ensure optimal operation and minimize downtime.
Candidates must have hands-on mechanical and electrical maintenance experience in a heavy industrial/manufacturing environment. Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, VFDs required.

responsibilities:
Planning and Scheduling:
Develop and schedule preventive maintenance plans based on equipment specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
Coordinate maintenance activities with production schedules to minimize downtime.
Prioritize maintenance tasks based on urgency, resources, and equipment importance.
Work Order Management:
Create and manage work orders in the CMMS, ensuring detailed and accurate records.
Review completed work orders for accuracy and enter data to track maintenance history and costs.
Assign tasks to technicians based on skills, availability, and work order priority.
Inventory and Parts Management:
Maintain adequate stock levels of spare parts and order replacements as needed.
Coordinate with the purchasing department to source parts and materials in a timely manner.
Track parts usage and update inventory records in the CMMS.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with maintenance technicians to ensure understanding of planned tasks and gather feedback on equipment condition.
Communicate maintenance schedules to production teams, ensuring alignment with operational needs.
Collaborate with engineers and reliability teams on equipment improvements and root cause analysis.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance.
Generate and analyze reports on maintenance activities, downtime, and costs for management.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance efficiency and reliability.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes and reduce equipment downtime.
Assist in developing and implementing new maintenance procedures and best practices.
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action planning for recurring equipment issues.
