Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled professional to join our growing team. This role is essential in managing month-end and year-end closings, cash management, financial reporting, and internal process improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, preferably within real estate, property management, or construction, and be proficient in GAAP standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesMonth-End, Quarter-End, and Year-End Closings
Prepare journal entries, variance reports, and reconciliations.Conduct account analysis and ensure all tasks are compliant with U.S. GAAP.
Cash Management
Oversee cash functions across multiple legal entities to ensure accurate cash flow monitoring.
Internal Controls and Process Improvements
Recommend and implement enhancements to internal controls and streamline accounting processes for better efficiency.
Budget Assistance
Support budget preparation, monitoring, and variance analysis.
Process Review and Optimization
Evaluate current procedures to identify areas for improvement and optimize workflows.
General Accounting Duties
Perform various accounting tasks as assigned to support the department's needs.
Required Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years in accounting, with a preference for experience in real estate property management, real estate development, or construction.
Core Competencies:
GAAP Knowledge: Advanced understanding of U.S. GAAP standards.Financial Reporting: Expertise in journal entries, balance sheets, income statements, and financial analysis.Analytical Skills: Strong financial analysis abilities with attention to detail.Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.Collaboration & Independence: Capable of working independently and as part of a team.Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.Self-Management: Ability to work with minimal supervision and effectively meet deadlines.
Preferred Experience
Accounting Software:
Proficiency in Yardi Property Management Accounting software, Sage300, and/or Procore Construction software.
Industry-Specific Accounting:
Experience in construction accounting, residential property management accounting, office/retail property management accounting, and real estate development accounting.
Payroll Processing:
Familiarity with payroll processing is a plus.
