HII Mission Technologies is currently seeking a highly skilled Computer System Security Analyst 5 for our HII Nuclear, Maritime Operations Team at Newport News Shipbuilding in Newport News, VA.
As part of the HII Nuclear Maritime Operations group, our professionals have access to a rare and unique professional development program that is intended to prepare our employees for life-long success with our HII affiliates supporting different Department of Energy sites and contracts around the country.
In this leadership role, you will provide expert- level guidance and oversight for the security of our computer systems, networks, and information technologies. You will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating security risks, ensuring compliance with security policies and standards, and leading efforts to protect our organization's IT infrastructure from emerging threats. This senior level position requiring advanced technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams to strengthen our overall cybersecurity posture.
What You Will Do
Designs, tests, and implements state-of-the-art secure operating systems, networks, and database products.
Conducts risk assessment and provides recommendations for application design.
Involved in a wide range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access.
Uses encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies, and information technology security research.
May prepare security reports to regulatory agencies.
What You Must Have
15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
Candidate must have extensive knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks.
Candidate must have advanced cybersecurity professional certificates.
Candidate must have proven experience with security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/ prevention systems (IDS/IPS), vulnerability management tools, endpoint protection, and encryption solutions.
Candidate must have experience in systems and network security architecture, including multi- layered defense strategies and secure communications.
Candidate must have strong experience with cloud security, container security, and security in hybrid IT environments.
Candidate must have experience in the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and security awareness training programs.
Candidate must have a proven track record in leading incident response efforts and working with other cybersecurity professionals to address complex security challenges.
Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
Bonus Points For Having!
Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or other industry- recognized credentials.
Experience with automated security testing and continuous monitoring solutions.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience in a defense contracting environment or with government cybersecurity compliance requirements.

Job performance requires adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of a Systems Analyst discipline. Office work environment normally encountered.
