Job Description:
As an advanced practice provider, you will be an integral part of the care team and work in tight partnership with Medical Doctors. You will work with both general neurology and MS providers. You will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and managing patients with a variety of neurological needs in the outpatient setting
Performing neurologic history and physical exam and conducting neurodiagnostic tests as necessary to diagnose complex medical problemsPrescribe and/or administer medication and treatment for neurologic disorders including infusion therapyMonitor the side effects of treatmentCounsel patients and caregivers on neurologic diagnoses and disordersInteract with primary care and other medical specialists to coordinate patient careConsult neurosurgery and other specialists when necessaryMonitor and track the patient's response to treatmentCarefully document the patient's health care journeyRespond appropriately to urgent and emergent situations as presented by phone and in person at the clinicAs applicable, participate in neuroscience research to better serve patientsParticipate in lifelong learningQualifications:Up-to-date Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant certificationCurrent Texas state license as a Nurse Practioner or Physician Assistant or ability to get oneCurrent federal DEA licenseProfessional organization membership is preferredExperience in neurology preferred, but not required
