Position Overview:We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our CVSICU team. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients in a dynamic and challenging environment.
Schedule:50/50 Day/Off ShiftsIncluding weekends, nights, and holidays
Responsibilities:Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to assess, diagnose, and manage critically ill patients in the CVSICU.Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, and evaluate patient responses to interventions.Perform invasive procedures, including but not limited to central line placement, arterial line placement, and chest tube insertion.Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding their condition, treatment options, and discharge planning.Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research projects to enhance patient care and outcomes in the CVSICU.
Requirements:Current licensure as a Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of Maryland.Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.Certification as a Physician Assistant (NCCPA).Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in critical care, preferably in a cardiovascular surgical intensive care unit.Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make autonomous decisions in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
