MEP/HVAC Field Engineer (Construction - EPC)

We are looking for a knowledgeable MEP/HVAC/Mechanical resource to join our Life Sciences team in support of a pharmaceutical client in the Indiana area.
This individual will support capital project and construction activities onsite and serve as liaison between contractor(s) and home office engineering and ensures the Contractor has all related information required to carry out the works appropriately in relation to their specific discipline. Generally, provides technical/engineering support and advice to Construction work, responds to technical issues through RFI, reviews technical documents, and follows up to rectify the gaps or problems.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Maintain red line drawings and other filed record documents required as part of the turnover records based on contract requirements. All approved changes must be red lined at the site and transferred to the final ‘as-built’ documents.
- Identify, communicate, and manage any changes to the project baseline. All approved changes resulting from RFIs must be approved by the Construction Engineering Manager, posted to, or referenced on, the affected drawings and/or specifications and must follow the change management requirements of the project.
- Participate in field site review(s) prior to the start of construction activities and verify documentation is available for construction start.
- Coordinate with Engineering regarding the technical approval of all General Contractor’s submittal documentation.
- Input and review of all temporary works for example, crane pads, open excavations, trenches, platforms except scaffolding that will be reviewed by the respective SME.
- Coordinate and monitor design documents issuance to ensure continuity of construction activities.
- Review and respond to field Request For Information, preparing, submitting and follow-up of RFIs concerning his field of expertise.
- Provides technical support to Field Personal and Contractors' regarding interpretation of design documents and procedures within their field of experience.
- Provides technical assistance to QA/QC and Project Controls to ensure contractors and suppliers have satisfied all technical requirements for their respective scopes.
- Provide spot surveillance of craft discipline to ensure high quality standards of workmanship are maintained.
- Audits the Contractor’s ‘As-Built’ drawing records.
Position Requirements and Qualifications
- 4+ years of relevant work experience with construction and front-end design-build projects.
- Effective written and verbal communications skills.
- Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to client specific to HVAC.Sound knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the mechanical engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technological field.
