EXECUTIVE CHEF AT AN ESTATE WINERY LOCATED IN BEAUTIFUL PASO ROBLES
Niner Wine Estates was founded in the early 2000s by Richard & Pam Niner. As an all-estate winery, they are committed to maintaining the long-term health of their land and creating a diverse ecosystem for generations to come. Wines are made from three vineyards in Paso Robles & Edna Valley: Bootjack Ranch in the Paso Robles Geneseo District, Heart Hill Vineyard in Paso Robles Willow Creek District, and Jespersen Ranch in Edna Valley.
Situated on a gorgeous estate, Niner Wine has a half-acre Chef’s Garden where they grow edible flowers, herbs, fruits, and vegetables. The winery uses the bounty of this to supplement anything they cannot obtain from the local farmers, butchers, and artisans. Since opening the restaurant in 2014, Niner is committed to local, sustainable farming and practices.
The tasting room and restaurant are open daily for flights and farm-to-table inspired lunch. The tasting room, restaurant, and winery are all Solar Powered & LEED Certified. All the wines are made at the SIP Certified Winery at Heart Hill Vineyard. Niner Wine is known for their estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay as well as their flagship blend Fog Catcher. However, they grow a wide range of varietals and specialize in small lot bottlings to allocate to Wine Club Members.
Niner Wine Estates is looking for a versatile and talented Executive Chef to helm the culinary program. Candidates should be excited to work with the local abundance of farms as well as on-site half-acre Chef’s Garden, drawing inspiration from these sources. The team is looking for a hands-on Executive Chef who prides themselves on cultivating (and continuing!) a positive kitchen culture, with a strong emphasis on mentoring and developing the line team. Financial acumen and a collaborative personality rounds out the ideal leader. This is an amazing opportunity for a Chef looking to cook in the middle of a growing region, with incredible wine to compliment the food program.
Competitive base salary in the $90-$130k range, fully covered medical, life insurance, 3 weeks PTO, 401K with matching, and wine classes. Great schedule as well!
