The Residential Clinician plays a crucial role in delivering both direct and indirect clinical services to individuals dealing with substance use and/or co-occurring disorders. Direct services encompass assessment, treatment planning, individual, group, and family counseling, as well as discharge planning. Indirect services involve supervision, participation in staff meetings and trainings, managing residential operations, handling phone calls, authorizing treatments, collaborating with external providers, and completing all necessary paperwork, reporting, and documentation related to client care. This position works closely with a multi-disciplinary team to develop personalized recovery programs for each client.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
Manage a client caseload, conducting clinical assessments and providing individual and group therapy.
Ensure quality care and that clients meet the minimum required weekly clinical treatment hours.
Apply motivational enhancement and engagement strategies tailored to each client’s readiness and willingness to change.
Obtain initial insurance authorizations and handle all necessary concurrent authorizations and renewals throughout the treatment period. Provide billing personnel with required information.
Complete all clinical documentation, including residential assessments, progress notes, group notes, treatment plans and reviews, discharges, and DDaPs, in accordance with policy.
Accurately and promptly enter all clinical documentation into EHR system
Work with.multidisciplinary team to plan and direct client care, assessing needs and performance within the program.
Communicate with referral sources regarding client progress and performance, including preparing reports and CDCS data entry (West) as needed.
Participate in all required internal and external meetings and supervisions.
Monitor the appropriateness of referrals and maintain high bed utilization.
Conduct urinalysis/breathalyzer testing as indicated and within monitoring guidelines.
Assist with daily residential tasks such as head-counts, tours, medication monitoring, log book maintenance, and client transportation when necessary.
Attend all required internal and external meetings and supervisions.
Complete all required internal and external trainings within specified timeframes.
Contribute to agency outcomes and performance measures.
Comply with state and federal regulations, DSS and ASAM requirements, and standards of accreditation, facility licensure, and funding sources.
Maintain professional licensure, certification, and continuing education.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Master Degree with Licensure in Behavioral Health (LPC, LCSW, LMFT) in CT. Additional LADC a plus.
Associate Licensure in Behavioral Health (LPC-A, LMSW, LMFT-A) eligible.
Preferred 3 years of working experience in behavioral health field; experience in a residential setting preferred.
Experience in trauma informed care preferred.
Experience with substance abuse clients, co-occurring diagnosed clients and
