As the Engineering Manager of the Notifications team, you’ll be involved in shaping the platform and product strategy to ensure buyers and sellers have a great Notifications experience and that we drive significant business growth through the channel.In addition, you’ll:hire and develop engineers across all our consumer applications and backend systems.collaborate with your product and design counterparts to influence the strategic direction of the team, advocating for technical solutions that help us grow Whatnot as a whole.plan and manage projects, coordinating and aligning your team‘s goals against others across the business.Team members in this role are required to be within commuting distance of our San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, or New York City hubs.ð YouIn addition to embodying our cultural principles, great candidates will also:have experience leading a team of engineers to deliver significant business impact.have experience guiding them through both their career development, and executing in a high growth environment.have low ego, an appetite to build, and employ good judgment in making hard trade-offs with limited resources.effectively recruit, mentor, retain, and measure high performing teams.operate as a technical leader with hands-on experience in large distributed systems and complex user interfaces across web and mobile.have great taste in building user experiences and the systems behind them, understand how form follows function, and effectively direct teams to build in this manner.are comfortable with technical debt and how to leverage it.understand how to instrument product metrics, recognizing the value and limits of data.can effectively manage stakeholders, competing priorities and deal with ambiguityhave substantial hands-on experience of doing the job you’ll be managing.ðCompensationFor Full-Time (Salary) US-based applicants: $215,000 - $285,000/year + benefits + equityThe salary range may be inclusive of several levels that would be applicable to the position. Final salary will be based on a number of factors including, level, relevant prior experience, skills and expertise.
