POSITION TITLE: Grants Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Grants Director

POSITION SUMMARY:

LifeCare Alliance is a nationally recognized nonprofit human services organization serving nearly 30,000 Ohioans each year. We are there for people facing challenges that stem from medical conditions, disabilities, or aging in place through our programs: Meals-on-Wheels, Cancer Services, HIV/AIDS Nutritional Support, Diabetes Services, or one of the other 7 health and human services programs we lead. Our mission is to provide Nutrition, Health, and Support services that help restore the stability and self-reliance of people facing challenges stemming from medical conditions, disabilities, or aging in place.

We're looking for a driven, curious, and compassionate Grants Coordinator to join our highly respected in-house grants department. Someone who thrives on variety in their daily work, who is dynamic, collaborative, and would be inspired putting their grant writing skills to work in service to a higher mission. This is an exciting time to join LifeCare Alliance as we look to expand our regional, state, and national reputation.

The Grants Coordinator assists in the process of research, grant writing, proposal development, reporting, and deadline management. Work requires attention to detail and excellent organization, writing, communication, and time management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Grants Director and in cooperation with other Agency personnel. This position will require a significant amount of independence and self-direction to accomplish its essential functions and responsibilities.

This position requires a professional demeanor at all times, will be of a confidential nature, and requires balancing the administrative office duties and meeting with funders, donors, and sponsors to increase fundraising revenues. Work requires an understanding of general office practices and an understanding of the inter-workings of the Agency, its programs, and fundraising revenue. It also requires regularly performing multiple tasks with multiple deadlines.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Identify, research, and analyze prospective grant opportunities of foundations, government agencies, and corporations to match the focus of funding sources to the needs of all Agency programs.
• Work closely with the Grants Director and Grants Team in preparing and submitting funding applications and reports as assigned.
• Maintain official grant files that comply with legal, auditing, and foundation requirements.
• Assist in maintaining complete and accurate data to ensure funding source information is kept up-to-date using the fundraising data management system and other internal procedures.
• Support the Grants Office in its ongoing grantor recognition functions and help drive strategy with Grants staff on continuous improvement efforts.
• Performs other departmental and agency functions as necessary. This includes providing back-up coverage for the Volunteer team, attending Agency functions, attending and participating in departmental meetings and committees as necessary and performing other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree required. Strong knowledge of computer applications, including MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, including chart preparation. Effective Internet search skills as well as ability to learn new programs and software. Ability to understand and effectively communicate the Agency's mission and possess familiarity with community health and/or gerontology.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Full time employment working eight (8) hours per day, forty hours per week, between 8 a.m. opening and 5 p.m. closing, Monday through Friday; schedule may change to include potential early morning, weekend, or evening hours.
