Job Description
Position: Lead Social Worker
Credentials: Licensed Certified Social Worker
Program: Substance Abuse and Mental Health
As a mental health and substance abuse social worker trained to help clients dealing with addiction abuse or mental illness. LCSW acts as an advocate and helps clients gain access to resources while confronting their personal issues, such as mental illness, addiction, and abuse. LCSW is expected to behave ethically and professionally, demonstrate excellent communication skills and be capable of working with diverse populations. must be able to collaborate well with others. The profession requires emotional resilience and stability since the work often involves dealing with crises.
Educational Requirements:
- Degree: Master's Degree Social Work with North Carolina State Board of Social Work with licensure (must be fully licensed/certified)
- Experience: At least 2-3 years' experience with Mental Health/Substance Abuse Population; Child/ Adolescents /Adult. Must be experienced with standard concepts, practices and procedures in substance abuse and mental health.
- Work Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; Some Saturday's as needed.
- Always maintain ethical and professional behavior.
- Oversee same level credentials.
- Manage a case load of therapy and group treatment patient (adults &Adolescents, children) 25 and over clients.
- Provide treatment in the home and the office. Due to COVID It is Telehealth only.
- Complete clinical paperwork (intakes, diagnosing, Comprehensive Clinical Assessments, (CCA treatment plans, progress notes, discharge planning)
- Advocate for patient needs.
- Engage in individual supervision regularly as decided by the clinical supervisor.
- Work with other clinical staff in the community to meet the patient needs (doctors, psychiatrist, etc.)
- Discuss issues related to mental illness, substance abuse, trauma, poverty, or other challenges with clients in individual and group therapeutic settings each week.
- Attend peer supervision.
- Plan courses of treatment based on the patient's cultural identity factors.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Consult with other mental health professionals/substance abuse professionals, as necessary. Approved by Supervisor.
- Facilitate referrals to support agencies as needed (i.e., Child/ Adolescent or Adult Protective Services, other health professionals, as approved by Supervisor).
- Attend workshops, conference, and meetings to uphold license/certifications and develop more knowledge. Approved by Supervisor and Director.
. Oversee programming and provide training and supervision of subordinate personnel. And other clinical duties maybe assign by your Supervisor or Director within the scope of your Licensed Professional.
