About the Role: PharmBIO, in the Specialty Business Group, has a unique opportunity for an experienced Global Technical Leader to join our team. Gore PharmBIO is at the forefront of drug discovery and manufacturing, offering innovative solutions to enhance patient well-being and ensure pharmaceutical product safety. Leveraging materials science expertise and a commitment to regulatory compliance, PharmBIO has a proven track record of improving pharmaceutical product processing and delivery. We provide reliable solutions for purifying, transferring, storing, filtering, processing, and packaging. This Global Leader will provide technical leadership for the business and be a member of the PharmBIO core leadership team. In this role the Associate will build high performing teams and lead 60-65 technical associates, including process and new product development engineers. This position will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement (4 days in the facility), depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.Pay and Benefits:$200,000 - $255,000 per yearRoles above $150k are eligible for the variable pay program each fiscal year, based on defined business performance metrics. More details are available at Responsibilities: Provide technical leadership for the PharmBIOCreate a highly engaged technical team that is excited about growth opportunities in the Life Science Venting (LSV) and Fluid Transfer and Containment (FT&C) business unitsConnect associates throughout the PharmBIO technical teams to develop associates and build a high performing teamPartner with LSV and FT&C Business Leaders to brainstorm, ideate, specify, develop, and commercialize a portfolio of growth opportunities and new programsInfluence strategy development as a member of the PharmBIO Core leadership teamDevelop and maintain a forward-looking technical plan which includes: Technical Project portfolio and priorities; maintaining and executing an R&D funnel that supports the growth of the BU (including in the Research phase), and integration of regional capabilities to ensure effective execution of global strategyProvide stewardship of Technical Team investments and overall ROI; including resource planning, hiring, and project/regional allocation decisionsChampion IP strategy for the division and ensure appropriate protection of Gore IPReview and approve key processes and products within the PharmBIO Quality System (ie Design Controls) Coach the PharmBIO Technical team in continuous improvement through the Gore Business System, getting Tech Leader commitment, and engaging associates in the journey; promote mindset that there is always room for improvement, and everyone plays an active role in identifying and solving problemsFoster an environment of collaboration across functions and businesses; and representing R&D in Strategic Customer engagements and Quality system auditsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical engineering, physics or other technical degree with New Product Development or Process Development experiencePrior experience as a people leader, developing technical associates and leaders in a global environmentAbility to create natural followership in a fast paced, dynamic environmentDemonstrated ability to lead cross-functional project teams and influence across functionsExperience leading across process engineering, technology and large-scale NPD projectsExperience developing and activating visionary and incremental technical plans that support both short-term and longer-term business objectivesExperience building relationships with external customers and/or partners, ideally identifying unmet needs and partnering for potential solutionsExperience in various aspects of a regulated Quality Management System (e.g. pharma, med device, aerospace)Excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to travel internationally up to 10%Desired Qualifications: Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech or med device industriesDemonstrated success interacting with external partners/customersHybrid Working Arrangements are permitted for Associates in the continental United States (US) and Canada, with appropriate approval and compliance with Gore’s hybrid working policies, from the country in which they are employed.What We Offer: Our success is based on the capability and creativity of our Associates, and we are proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive total rewards program that supports your everyday and helps you build your tomorrow.We provide benefits that offer choice and flexibility and promote overall well-being.
