You will be responsible for overseeing and owning all aspects of inventory management from forecasting through delivery. This includes managing up to $20M in annual spend for perishable food and materials, 4,000 SKU's and food cost variance. The Materials Manager will be required to work onsite at our SeaTac, WA location. We are a 24/7 facility you must have open availability from 5am to 11pm and be willing to work weekends and holidays depending on operational needs. To be considered candidates must understand and knowledge of food/inventory par levels, have strong excel, SAP is a strongly preferred.Main Accountabilities
Material ManagementOversee all aspects of inventory management to ensure financial and customer requirements are metHandle all company and customer owned merchandise received until it is issued to productionControl Food Cost Variances and continually compare actual to billed costsDetermine par levels and order quantities based on airline specifications, menus and vendor lead timeManage personnel to maintain proper inventory, ordering, receiving, storage and requisition processesTrack product usage and yields in relation to ordering requirementsCoordinate and participate in inventory and reporting processesMaintain regulatory compliance standards (examples: United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), etc.)LeadershipEnsure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed and directedGuide, motivate and develop the subordinate employees within the Human Resources PolicyParticipates in coaching the expanded Global Performance System (GPS) process, as well as additional career development activities to enhance the effectiveness and potential of the teamMake the company's values and management principles live in the department(s)Plan / Implement and control the cost budget in the area of responsibility; initiate and steer corrective actions in case of deviationsParticipate and support company sponsored initiatives such as Global Quality Standards (GQS), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Lean Manufacturing, Employee SafetyKnowledge, Skills and Experience
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience requiredIn addition three to five years experience in purchasing, inventory and warehouse management requiredOne to three years supervisory experience strongly preferredBasic knowledge of Demand Planning and Vendor ManagementBasic knowledge of lean manufacturing and supply chain managementProven success in improving work processes, leading change and role models positive behaviors as well as change agent skills in a complex and fast paced environmentEstablished ability to identify the vision and produces goals with realistic plans to achieve themAbility to interact with employees, customers and vendors at all levelsProficient in computer skills including Microsoft Excel and PowerPointExperience in SAP MM a plusExcellent analytical and conceptual skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary to provide leadership
