Read more about NIF here.POSITION DESCRIPTIONThe Associate Regional Director will build relationships with and steward current and prospective NIF donors through individual meetings, public events, small salons, and other educational programming. They will play a substantive role in the planning and implementation of regional fundraising events, including our annual Guardian of Democracy Gala. Working directly under the supervision of the Senior Regional Director, this position will serve as a critical part of the team working to nurture and grow our vibrant community of NIF supporters in the Bay Area.RESPONSIBILITIESFundraisingCultivate, solicit, thank, and steward a file of donors and prospectsSet up donor meetings and make donor phone calls, edit written materials, and send personalized invitations to eventsSupport the Senior Regional Director with fundraising and tracking annual gala contributionsMaintain updated and accurate information for donors and prospects; track donor communications and work performed via CRM software (Raiser’s Edge)Finalize proposals and reports for higher level donors, foundations, and prospects in collaboration with the Senior Regional Director and the Grants Editor & CoordinatorDraft and/or edit online communications and event invitations for Bay Area regionSupport Senior Regional Director in regional planning and strategizingSupport Senior Regional Director in working with the Regional Council (NIF’s Bay Area advisory council)Maintain a high level of knowledge and understanding about current events related to Israel and NIF’s workEventsPartner with the Senior Regional Director in planning and implementing parlor meetings and public events around the regionCommunicate with and support event hosts in planning and executing eventsCoordinate with NIF visiting grantees and other visiting speakers in collaboration with NIF’s Public Engagement department in preparation for eventsSupport the planning and production of the annual Guardian of Democracy Gala: work with vendors, maintain the production schedule, help in developing and producing the event program, and manage digital and printed materials.Compose invitations, event landing pages, and other outreach materials to communicate critical information for guests and prospective attendeesRepresent NIF in the community; this includes potentially speaking publicly on behalf of NIFMaintain and grow relationships with partner organizations and synagogues in the communitySKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSExperience in fundraising and development strongly encouragedPrior work experience in the nonprofit sectorStrong communications skills (verbal and written), including warmth, clarity, and ability to express compassion and empathyResilient and able to perform with grace and humor under pressureWell-organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyTremendous discretion and good judgmentExperience planning and executing both small and large scale eventsFamiliarity with socio-economic and political realities at play in Israel and the Occupied Territories and global trends of democratic recessionEnthusiasm to serve as a regional ambassador for the New Israel FundExperience with Raiser’s Edge, Every Action or other CRM system, and iWave or other prospect research system a plusBasic Fluency in Google Workspace – especially Sheets and Docs – a mustAvailable to work occasional evenings and/or weekends for eventsBachelor’s Degree and 5+ years experience minimum, or equivalent professional experienceThe New Israel Fund promotes diversity in the workplace and believes it is important for our continuing success.
