Quality Assurance/Information System Manager

Job Purpose
This job can be based at various existing Progress Rail facilities, including: La Grange, IL; Muncie, IN; or Winston Salem, NC.
Responsible for the design, implementation, and coordination of all Quality Management Systems (QMS) programs for assigned facilities and all required quality standards. Establish and maintain quality surveillance programs in accordance with Progress Rail contract requirement, domestic and internation standards, and best practices. Also, the position will develop and maintain the dashboards utilized by the division for monitoring and reporting Key Quality Indicators.

Education / Training
Basic Qualifications:•Bachelor's degree in related field;•Advanced degree / MBA is preferred.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:•Understanding customer expectations of and needs for products and services;•Identifying and setting the quality standards for the division;•Developing quality control processes;•Designing and implementing quality control procedures;•Ensuring QMS processes meet national and international standards;•Advising the division on quality control and its impact on the final product;•Developing dashboards to communicate Quality health of the division;•Ensuring all legal standards are met;•Maintaining records of quality reports, statistical reviews, and relevant documentation;•Identify and help develop training plans and programs;•Lead teams on troubleshooting and corrective action development;•Travel Required: >25%.
Qualifications and Experience
Basic Qualifications:•Understanding of ISO 9001, AAR M-1003, EN and other international standards;•Proven experience as a Quality Manager or relevant role;•Thorough knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies;•Experience in reporting on key quality control parameters;•Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data analysis/statistical methods;•Good knowledge of MS Office and databases;•Great attention to detail and a results-driven approach;•Outstanding communication skills;•Certification of quality control is a strong advantage (ISO 9000 etc.);•5+ years managing a QMS;•Six Sigma and/or Shainin training and certification;•Understand of PowerBI and development of dashboards.
Essential and Physical Activities Functions:•Strength - Position typically involves work in an office environment with occasional visits to an industrial environment. Frequent sitting. Occasional standing and walking. Occasional light to medium-level lifting (up to 30 pounds);•Motion - Position regularly requires standard motions associated with working in an office environment;•Vision/Hearing Requirements - Frequent verbal communications, including both talking and hearing;•Work Environment - Position is typically located in an office environment with occasional visits to an industrial environment which may include a non-temperature-controlled environment, as well as exposure to noise (85+ decibels), occasional exposure to temperature changes, heavy machinery and other hazardous working conditions requiring the use of PPE;•Emotional Demands - Very high level of responsibility. Must be able to coordinate diverse aspects of a project. Requires significant interpersonal skills while sustaining very high standards;•Safety - This is not a safety sensitive position, but may occasionally require the use of Personal Protective Equipment during visits to industrial areas.
