The ideal candidate will have the ability to extract, analyze, and understand complex datasets while acting as a key communicator between business stakeholders and technical teams. This role involves gathering business requirements, supporting Scrum processes, and leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT) in an Agile environment.Work You'll DoCollaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams (data engineering, data science) to gather, evaluate, and document business requirementsAnalyze business needs and translate them into detailed Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and technical specificationsConduct data modeling and ensure that data is accurately extracted, understood, and aligned with business goalsAct as a bridge between business and technical teams, ensuring effective communication and understanding across departmentsLead and support Scrum processes, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and project meetingsDevelop and implement Business Systems Analysis (BSA) frameworks and methodologies, providing training and guidance to team members on best practicesCreate and execute test plans, conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and ensure systems meet business requirements in Agile environmentsUtilize BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) to analyze and present data, and work with ETL tools such as SSIS and Talend to manage data pipelinesRequirements5+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years in Business Systems Analysis (BSA) within data engineering and data scienceUnderstanding of BSA frameworks, methodologies, and Agile project managementExposure to BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, proficiency in SQL, data modelling, and ETL tools like SSIS, TalendExperience with User Acceptance testing in an Agile environmentPreferred RequirementsExperience in training and coaching teams on BSA best practicesKnowledge of healthcare-specific regulations and data standards (e.g., HIPAA, HL7)Experience with additional data visualization tools or cloud-based data platformsBased in Chicago, IL and flexible to work from our Chicago office as neededBenefitsFlexible PTO, monthly half-day refuels, volunteer time off, 10 paid holidaysOwn Your Day flexible work policyCompetitive majority employer-paid benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K MatchEmployee Stock Ownership PlanGenerous maternity/paternity leaveoptionsCompletely employer paid Life Insurance, STD, LTDCharitable contribution matching programNew client commission opportunities and referral bonus programVideo-free FridaysBike share discount programAbout AAreteAArete is a global management and technology consulting firm specializing in strategic profitability improvement, digital transformation, and advisory services.
