ResponsibilitiesThe
Berkley Product Protection (BPP) AVP Underwriting – Recall
is responsible for marketing, producing, pricing and underwriting product recall business on a profitable basis from brokers based in the U.S. in accordance with the company’s underwriting guidelines.
This role can be located in our New York
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Sales and marketing of Contaminated Product and Product Recall products to new and existing brokers
Underwrite, structure and price profitable Contaminated Product and Product Recall business
Ensure wording on risks is appropriate
Develop and maintain good working relationships with Claims, Finance, Actuarial, Retained Consultants and Audit
Travel to industry events and broker meetings as necessary
Act as a Contaminated Product and Product Recall resource to BPP teammates and other functional areas
Keep current on emerging issues and trends in the contaminated product and product recall spheres
Proactively review new insurance offerings including wordings, proposal forms and endorsements
Peer review risks of other underwriters at BPP
Identify and develop BPP’s relationships with brokers and promote the organization’s capabilities in the sector
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
Highly knowledgeable in both Contaminated Products and Product Recall insurance, with a minimum of 5-10 years experience in the class.
Strong technical and marketing expertise
Strong portfolio and risk management skills
Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
Good organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks and effectively prioritize
Demonstrated strong negotiation and problem solving skills
Strong computer skills and ability to work with multi-faceted systems
Ability to effectively and independently manage complex workload while exhibiting very sound judgment
Good people management skills – ability to mentor team members and influence and optimize their performance across the business
Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at various levels, both verbally and in writing
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with brokers, agents, insureds and other departments.
