The
Berkley Product Protection (BPP) AVP Underwriting – Recall
is responsible for marketing, producing, pricing and underwriting product recall business on a profitable basis from brokers based in the U.S. in accordance with the company’s underwriting guidelines.This role can be located in our New York office.Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:Sales and marketing of Contaminated Product and Product Recall products to new and existing brokersUnderwrite, structure and price profitable Contaminated Product and Product Recall businessEnsure wording on risks is appropriateDevelop and maintain good working relationships with Claims, Finance, Actuarial, Retained Consultants and AuditTravel to industry events and broker meetings as necessaryAct as a Contaminated Product and Product Recall resource to BPP teammates and other functional areasKeep current on emerging issues and trends in the contaminated product and product recall spheresProactively review new insurance offerings including wordings, proposal forms and endorsementsPeer review risks of other underwriters at BPPIdentify and develop BPP’s relationships with brokers and promote the organization’s capabilities in the sectorQualifications
Bachelor’s DegreeHighly knowledgeable in both Contaminated Products and Product Recall insurance, with a minimum of 5-10 years experience in the class.Strong technical and marketing expertiseStrong portfolio and risk management skillsStrong analytical skills with excellent attention to detailGood organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks and effectively prioritizeDemonstrated strong negotiation and problem solving skillsStrong computer skills and ability to work with multi-faceted systemsAbility to effectively and independently manage complex workload while exhibiting very sound judgmentGood people management skills – ability to mentor team members and influence and optimize their performance across the businessStrong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at various levels, both verbally and in writingDemonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with brokers, agents, insureds and other departments.Exemplifies superior teamworkSelf-starter/energeticAbility to work within and promote a diverse and inclusive cultureAbility to travel 10-15%Additional Company Details: We do not accept any unsolicited resumes from external search firms.
