A large system in Nebraska/Iowa are looking for Night PCU RN's.12 hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed.2 years of unit experience.Looking for someone who is flexible and willing to learn as well as take feedback along the way.Successful nurse is a team player, flexible, adaptable, and has good communication skills.Different cultural populations are served on this unit- primarily Hispanic and Somalian.Job Requirements

12 hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed.Shifts & Scheduling: 0630-1830, 1830-0630 / Smart Square online scheduling.Weekend Requirements: Every third.Holiday Requirements: Rotating with perm staff.Floating Requirements: Yes to MedSurg or to ICU to take PCU acuity patients.Unit Specific Information
Department: PCUBeds: 40 beds with an average daily census of 24.Ratios: 1:4-5 both days and nights.Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults, Cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer diagnosis, vascular, sepsis, adult respiratory, stroke, post stent, post pacer placement, renal failure.Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes.Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, insulin.Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes.Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes, 1:12.RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides troubleshooting?: High flow.Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: RNs must read and interpret.Scrub Color/Dress code: Navy Blue.How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 1 week.Additional Details
WILL NOT APPROVE BLOCKED SCHEDULING OR SAME SCHEDULE/SHIFTS, MUST BE FLEXIBLE AND WILLING TO FLOAT AND WORK WHEN NEEDED.Overhead lifts in half the rooms, portable lifts, vein finders, bladder scanner.Focus on patient experience scores, responsiveness, hospital environment, and communication about medications.Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
