The U.S. Consumer Services and Enterprise Digital & Data Technology Team brings together foundational strategic technology capabilities in digital experience engineering (Mobile and Web), AI/ML, marketing technology, enterprise communications, travel and lifestyle, and automation, grounded in our data technology model that prioritizes data governance. It employs a ground-breaking focus with development responsibilities for customer-facing capabilities that deepen and expand digital engagement, as well as core technical capabilities that cut across business lines and customer segments.
Purpose of the Role:
LUMI is the company’s largest Big Data Platform, ideally suited for computationally and/or data intensive processing applications. Whether the data needs to be processed in batch, online, or streaming manner, Lumi provides robust capabilities to handle such workloads effectively, in a cost-efficient manner.

As we embark on the journey to move to public cloud - GCP you will be part of a fast-paced Agile team, design, develop, test, troubleshoot & optimize solutions created to simplify access to the Amex’s Big Data Platform.
Focus:
Designs, develops, solves problems, debugs, evaluates, modifies, deploys, and documents software and systems that meet the needs of customer-facing applications, business applications, and/or internal end user applications.
How will you make an impact in this role?
Software Development
Function as member of an agile team by contributing to software builds through consistent development practices (tools, common components, and documentation)
Participate in code reviews and automated testing
Debug basic software components and identify code defects for remediation
Enable the deployment, support, and monitoring of software across test, integration, and production environments
Automate deployments in test or production environments
Automatically scale applications based on demand projections
Architect, design, develop and maintain enterprise capabilities and systems.
Collaborate with team/s in agile environment on creating, evolving, and maintaining engineering excellence principles related to Code, Code reviews, Testing methodologies (Unit, Integration etc.,) and defect management
Developing prototypes using visualization and other techniques to fast-track concepts.
Seeks continuous improvement by considering solutions that make novel use of existing ideas, approaches, technologies, or products.
Works with Senior engineers and product owners to deliver new features and enhance existing features.
Qualifications :
7 years of experience designing, building, and implementing distributed cloud architecture within cloud environments. GCP preferred.
Provisioning, Network configuration for compute resources (ie. Google Compute Engine, Dataproc), serverless networking, infrastructure orchestration, resource configuration.
3 years of experience on GCP services like Cloud dataflow, Cloud Pub-Sub, Big Query, Cloud Storage, Cloud Dataflow, Google Composer etc..,
Implement and maintain AI/GenAI services using Google Cloud AI services, e.g. Vertex AI.
2 years of experience in Model Deployment: Build and deploy end-to-end ML models, leveraging metrics to support predictions, recommendations, search, and growth strategies
2 years experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Automation Tools approach using machine-readable definition files (e.g. Terraform, Ansible)
3 years experience with system performance - Monitoring, logging, and analyzing system performance (e.g., Prometheus, ELK stack, Icinga, Splunk, Dynatrace)
Min 5 years of experience with Installation and Configuration of Big Data Real Time Application tools such as Elastic Search, Kibana, Logstash, Tomcat, Solr, Apache HTTPD, JBoss etc.
Optimize cloud-based systems for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
Monitor and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability and security.
Understanding of fundamentals of Git and Git workflows.
Experience with scripting and automation (Python, Ruby, PowerShell, bash)
Experience of working in agile application development environment.
Experience of supporting platform Engineering Activities, Network, firewall
Qualifications
Salary Range: $85,000.00 to $150,000.00 annually bonus benefits
