Nurse Practitioner Physician Assistant Hospitalist-Contingent Midnights

GENERAL SUMMARY:Provides inpatient medical care, with the supervision but not necessarily the presence of a qualified physician member of the medical staff (e.g.: Patient history, physical examination, ordering and interpreting tests, making diagnoses and instituting treatment plans.Provides inpatient consultation on internal medicine conditions and may unction as a critical team member on the hospital code team. In conjunction with the supervising physician conducts admission evaluations and assessments and provides inpatient medical coverage for community physicians, as necessary.May be required to take call. Specific procedures within the Department of Medicine are individually credentialed as indicated by training and experience.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Master's degree in nursing OR Bachelor's Degree. Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program.CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Certified Nurse Practitioner. Licensed as a Registered Nurse. BCLS Certification required. Certification in one of the following: ANA certification exam in a nursing specialty field. National Certification Corporation (NCC). National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Associates.Certification from Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner (NP)OR Requires Michigan state licensure and continued certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA).Additional Information
