Responsible for the set-up of materials, equipment, machine operation and packaging finished goods for delivery to the warehouses. Direct and lead a team of hourly team members. Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitate daily huddle meeting
Interpret safety policies/practices to employees including enforcing safe work practices
Utilize available data to continuously improve productivity, uptime and reliability
Daily monitoring of process boards and drive their use
Maintain time and production records and accurately complete all reports as required by the Company
Ensure product quality by understanding and communicating customer needs to employees and managing expectations for quality
Assist employees in diagnosing malfunctions in work and machine activities
Ability to start, stop, changeover of machines in production and set fill weights to filler machines
Communicate effectively with peers, subordinates, supervisors and management
Check schedule and set up next shift for success
Ability to run production machines and understand staffing needs and support breaks, lunches and vacation coverage as needed
Collect and enforce use of downtime logs and downing entry in MII
Use SAP including PSA, finished goods process order confirmation, material return process, material issuing, print and/or return SU’s
Verify materials are scanned to PSA’s and verify materials for return are scanned to proper bin locations
Interpret specifications and job orders to employees and assign duties based upon work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel
Identify waste (MUV) loss points, report findings to the production supervisor and provide solutions for eliminating or reducing waste
Ensure the line meets the 5S standards (housekeeping)
Perform the Walk Around according with the standard work
Communicate effectively with other departments in regard to business needs (i.e. capacity constraints, machine downtime, material shortage, etc.)
Recommend measures to improve safety, quality of product, production methods, and equipment performance
Train staff in the areas of safety quality, productivity, and equipment
Maintain area in accordance with SQF standards and enforce product safety and sanitation regulations
Ensure compliance of all company and departmental policies (i.e. GMP, PPE, Food Safety, Lotto, etc.)
Support and participate in continuous improvement events and projects
On occasion, perform activities of co-workers and other duties as may be assigned
Other duties as assigned by management
Knowledge and Critical Skill Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. A degree is preferred but not required
Self-directed with the ability to work independently
Ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize work
Experience in general food or manufacturing industry
3 years related work experience
Proficient in English verbal and written communication
Competency of basic math
Ability to obtain certification in the safe use of Forklift
Must work well in a team-based environment
Must comply with all HACCP, GMPs and housekeeping requirements
Leads with safe behaviors, in personal accountability for quality of work and attendance
Basic computer skills
