Position Summary
This intern position will be with the Translational Research group within the Oncogenesis (TRC) who focus on delivering novel cancer therapeutics by engaging E3 ubiquitin ligases for targeted protein degradation. We are seeking a motivated intern with a basic understanding tumor biology and desire to learn about the drug discovery process for novel targeted protein degradation drugs. The candidate will learn how to design and execute lab-based experimental strategies that further our understanding of the mechanisms of novel compounds and targets.
Key Responsibilities
Shadow and learn cellular-based assays for optimizing clinical PD biomarker assays
Attend project meetings and learn about targeting cancer pathways for drug development
Regular maintenance of mammalian cell cultures
Recording daily activities in lab notebook and reporting to supervisor
End of project presentation to peers and group members
Qualifications & Experience
Demonstrate interest in tumor biology and drug discovery
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word and PowerPoint is essential.
Lab-based experience with mammalian cell culture is preferrable but not required

The starting compensation for this job is a range from $21.00/hour - $29.00/hour. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and the geographic location where work is performed. Final individual compensation is decided commensurate with demonstrated experience and education level.
