Shifts & Scheduling: 0630-1900, 1830-0700 / 6 week scheduling.Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend.Holiday Requirements: Will rotate with perm staff.Shifts of unit/department specific orientation: First week is classroom orientation, then 2-12 hour shifts.Unit Specific Information
Beds: 28.Ratios: 1:04.Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults, generally patients that arrive through the ER, Mixed Medical/Surgical along with cardiac and stroke patients.Common titratable and/or set rate drips: Heparin, octreotide, insulin, maintenance dosages of IV meds (non-titratable).Charge Nurse presence on each shift and whether they take an assignment: Yes.Nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit availability and duties: Yes - 1:14.Specialty Equipment Available: Code Carts, LUCAS Machines, hoyer lift, Sit and Stand.Tele/Monitor Techs availability on this unit: Tele yes - RNs must be able to read and interpret.Floating Requirements: Med/Surg and to all areas in the hospital, depending on abilities, including ICU/ED for appropriate types of patient care.Scrub Color/Dress code: Navy Blue.Additional Details
This is a high flow unit with frequent admissions, transfers, and discharges.Looking for positive nurses willing to work with others as a team to overcome challenges.Having a unit secretary 2-3 days/week and a stocking clerk 3 days/week.
