Purchasing Manager

Responsibilities of Purchasing Manager:

  • Lead, develop, and support a team of at least two Buyers.
  • Lead supplier sourcing and negotiations for Military components
  • Implement supplier agreements as required.
  • Perform Make vs. Buy analysis.
  • Actively participate/lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR's)
  • Measure Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to ensure continued success towards local and corporate goals - Purchase price Variance (PPV), Supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD), Freight Spend
  • Second source critical suppliers for make components.
  • Track commodity trends and interface with Military Sales team to ensure costs align to support expected margin for contracts.
  • Manage safety stock, lead-times, MOQ's for assigned locations.
  • Support the Corporate SIOP process as required.
  • Support ISO 9001& AS-9100 audits
  • Travel is required with this position.

Preferred Experience of Purchasing Manager:

  • 5+ years supervisory experience required, Supply Chain or Purchasing
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 & AS-9100 is required.
  • ERP/MRP experience (i.e. Made2Manage, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle)
  • DFARS/FAR experience
  • Government sourcing contract experience
  • Experience in - machined parts, sheet metal, cable, and connectors
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Process oriented, high-level sense of urgency
  • Good business sense and capability to develop a vision and/or strategy
