Description: We are looking for an experienced clinical medical physicist to join our growing radiation oncology group. The physicist will join a team of 3 other physicists and 4 dosimetrists to cover 3 clinics spread throughout the Phoenix metro area. Current clinical equipment includes, two Varian TrueBeam linacs, two Varian Gamma Med plus iX HDR afterloaders, one Accuray Cyberknife VSI machine, one Accuray HAD Tomotherapy unit, and VisonRT. Treatment planning is done with Varian Eclipse and Accuray Precision. All sites use full scale, cloud-based, ARIA for our record and verify system.

The qualified candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of radiation in the clinic, as well as oversee the scientific and technical aspects of all procedures. The candidate will be required to collaborate and communicate with other staff members when necessary. The responsibilities of the candidate include quality control tests based upon AAPM and industry standards, treatment planning review, weekly chart review, participation in radiation safety measures, and assistance in implementation of new technology and/or equipment.Requirements: • Board Certification or Board eligibility by the American Board of Radiology, or equivalent, is required.• Master's Degree, or PhD, in Medical Physics or related field.• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the field of radiation oncology physics is preferred.• Familiarity with Varian and Accuray products is desirable.• Proficient in radiation physics, dosimetry, and the operation of various types of equipment used in a radiation oncology clinic.• Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve for general clinical issues that arise and any discrepancies that are found.• Stereotactic and HDR planning experience is a plus.
