The Department of Radiation Oncology at UCLA is seeking a medical dosimetrist to join our team of medical physicists and dosimetrists. Our department uses cutting-edge radiation therapy techniques and technologies to provide exceptional patient care. We treat with advanced machines such as TrueBeams, TrueBeam STx, NovalisTx, Varian Ethos, Accuray Tomo HD, and ViewRay MRIdian, along with an active interstitial HDR brachytherapy program. Treatment planning is conducted using various systems and software. As part of the Medical Physics Division, medical dosimetrists handle SBRT, IMRT, 3D conformal, total body irradiation, and HDR brachytherapy treatment planning. They collaborate closely with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and radiation therapists to support treatment simulation, quality control, and participate in departmental quality initiatives and process improvements.

Required:Bachelor's degree or higherCertification by the American Board of Medical Dosimetry or CMD eligible3 years of full time dosimetry experienceKnowledgeable in the operation of radiotherapy equipment, including linear accelerators, cobalt teletherapy units, simulators, osimetric equipment, brachytherapy equipment, computerized treatment planning systems, and record and verification/patient information management systems.Proficient in external beam and brachytherapy treatment planning.Ability to perform and analyze in-vivo and in-phantom measurements.Knowledgeable of current radiotherapy treatment techniques.Ability to assess and plot radiation dose distributions.Skill in providing treatment planning and dose-calculation services for patient treatment and diagnosis with external, interstitial, intracavitary, and distributed internal sources.Knowledge of the principles of radiation safety and Health Physics.Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, clinical oncology, radiobiology, radiation physics.*Ability to exercise independent judgment and problem-solving in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care within the context of radiotherapy.Ability to work variable shifts, including evenings and weekends.
