In this role, you will work under the general supervisor of the Chief Radiation Therapy Technologist and your functions will include:

Applying ionizing radiation according to MD's prescription (3D,IMRT,SBRT,SRS,HDR)

Patient scheduling and appointments

Performing dose calculations

Treatment data entry

Working with physicians, physicists and dosimetrists to perform simulations and treatment planning CT's

May be hired as Radiation Therapist if you possess less than 5 years of experience.

Salary Range Senior Radiation Therapist: $66.04 - $87.12 Hourly

Salary Range Radiation Therapist: $61.60 - $81.28 Hourly

Qualifications

Required:

ARRT License

CRT License

5 or more years radiation therapy experience

BLS/CPR from American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Skill in working with different types of treatment machines such as MR Scanner, CT Scanner, HDR units and Linear Accelerators and ability to recognize when hazardous conditions may exist

Truebeam, Tomotherapy, Novalis, CT and MR guided RT experience

Ability to lift cerrobend blocks weighing up to 35 pounds.

Knowledge of basic physics as applicable to Radiation Therapy.

Ability to use an electronic calculator to perform dose calculations.

Skill in communicating various technical aspects of Radiation Therapy at a level understood by patients.

Skill in recognizing and reporting any adverse patient therapy reactions.

Knowledge of the principles and applications of thermo-luminescent dosimeters.

Skill in reading documents written with medical terminology and ability to read and implement computer-generated physics treatment plans.

Knowledge of basic nursing procedures.

Working knowledge of University procedures regarding isolation of immuno-suppressed patients.

Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with physicians and physicists.
