Job SummaryThe Director of Philanthropy is responsible for all major and annual gift fundraising of the UMC Foundation respective of Children’s Miracle Network.

Reports to:

VP-CPO

Job Specific Responsibilities

Directs all aspects of the annual gifts, major gifts and capital campaign giving programs for the UMC Health System.

Provides leadership and directions of UMC Foundation capital campaign efforts and interfaces with the Capital Campaign Cabinet. Provides all stewardship information for Donor Relations.

Directs the UMC Foundation Development Committee of the Board.

Oversees the cultivation and solicitation of all major gifts for the Foundation.

Directs all annual giving for the UMC Foundation and Annual Giving Officers.

Directs fundraising and all aspects of UMC Gala.

Responsible for budgeting and reporting to VP/CPO all Major, Capital and Annual giving budgets.

Directs Donor Relations / Stewardship.

Requires extensive interaction with the Foundation Board members, Physician Leadership, Volunteers and Community. This involves an unrelenting commitment of time, energy, and skill.

All other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related field.

5+ years of experience in fundraising, preferably in a healthcare environment.

2+ years Capital Campaign experience.

Required Licensures/Certifications/Registrations

CFRE preferred.

Skills and Abilities

Ability to design and implement successful fundraising programs.

Able to establish and maintain effective relationships with donors and volunteers.

Effectively cope with change and able to operate in the midst of ambiguity.

Proficient with a donor software system and also Microsoft Office Suite.

Skilled in communicating in individual and group settings.

Interaction with Other Departments and Other RelationshipsInteraction with the Foundation Board members and other volunteer groups is extremely important. Relationships with existing sponsor groups outside of the hospital are to be maintained throughout the year.

Physical CapabilitiesMust be able to lift up to 25 lbs. Ability to read, write, listen, and verbally communicate.

Environmental Working ConditionsThis position is exposed to indoor varying temperature changes.
